George enjoyed carpentry which was reflected in his manager position at Schoeneman’s Lumber Company. Together they farmed for a few years and then moved to California before returning to Inwood. On DecemGeorge married Anna Kooima at First Reformed Church in Inwood. He was later honorably discharged in October 1945. George entered in the US Army during World War II in October 1942 and served in the OSS (currently CIA). He attended school through the eighth grade and later achieved his high school diploma in 1969. Memorials may be directed to First Reformed Church of Inwood Building Fund and condolences may be left for the family at George was born Jin the Netherlands, to Harry and Hilda (Miedema) Halma.
